All the staff at the unit make sure that your right to confidentiality is maintained at all times.
None of our patient records leave the unit (unless expressly authorised by you). This information is not accessible to other staff in the Trust or by outside agencies and GPs.
As part of Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Trust, we follow their confidentiality policy. This is in line with the national NHS guidelines on the management of patient records and the Data Protection Act 1998.
Subject Access Rights
Under the legislation, as the "subject" of the information, only you can view your records (apart from the medical professionals involved in your care). This includes paper and digital information. We cannot divulge this information to anyone else without your express permission. If you would like to see your records, speak to one of our staff members who will advise you on the appropriate procedure.
